Dr. Philip Muruthi provides key scientific input for AWF’s strategies, considering landscape, social, and economic factors. His duties include determining species’ endangerment classifications, managing resource allocation, and overseeing the species program. Dr. Muruthi represents AWF in international conservation forums such as CITES and the IUCN World Conservation Congress. He is also a member of Kenya’s Migratory Corridors Task Force and the National Giraffe Conservation Task Force. Dr. Muruthi holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology from Princeton University and has published extensively.
